A little about me and my website

Welcome to NomadGnome

Welcome fellow wayfarer, you must be tired. Take a seat at the campfire, grab a drink, relax and listen to my story:

Imagine waking up in a soft bed somewhere far from your own, the sun shines gently through the window as it ascends beyond the horizon and its warm rays fill the room with pleasant vibes. You can hear the birds sing a tune in the trees, perhaps the trickling of a river or even the crashing of a waterfall somewhere in the near distance.

You take a refreshing shower, cook up a nutritious breakfast and wonder to yourself: ‘What adventure awaits me today’? You think about it, maybe you want to hike through the vast countryside, or climb a mountain, tan on the beach and take a dip in the azure ocean. Perhaps you want to visit the neighboring towns and enjoy the local culture, go shopping in the mall or even just take it easy for the day.

Imagine waking up in the morning devoid of all the worries of your everyday life, the stress at work, the boredom of sitting at home wishing you’d finally do something with yourself. You watch all these travel bloggers and envious, you wish you were out there doing the same, experiencing what countless other nomads and travelers have and you must realize, it’s easier than you may think.

Once again welcome, my name is Kevin, a lot of people call me Ibby and I’ll be your guide here at Nomadicus.

MY STORY

Born in the Netherlands to a German father and an Indonesian mother, the mixing of culture has always been integrated into my life, speaking a variety of languages and studying the diverse cultures of the world I always had a fascination to travel one day.

And man did my wanderlust grow after I first started traveling on my own, the immense freedom I had to do whatever I wanted, to explore wherever I wished (and not have to worry about coming home late to a bollocking from my parents XD) was something I could only have dreamed of.

I hated the idea of being stuck in one place, filled with passion and potential but unable to express it. To follow the same routine day in and out, expecting for a change to come out of nowhere.

I realize that it was me, I had to be the one to change things in my life and I did, I made the ultimate decision to pack my bags and book me a ticket far away, my life hasn’t been the same ever since.

So far I’ve discovered the vast landscapes of Europe, toured tropics of the South East, enjoyed the many golden beaches and glimmering oceans. And I’m only just beginning, there’s too much to explore in one lifetime but it is my dream to fill my soul with memories that inspire the generations to come.

MY MISSION

I want to inspire people to take up traveling and find their passion in exploring the world with me. Many people wait for the opportunity to pass them by and before they know it, they’re caught up with all sorts of different problems that life throws at them; and they’ll be trapped in the mindset of ‘I have no time’ or ‘I have responsibilities that prohibit me’.

Maybe it’s the indecision and fear that something may go wrong, perhaps you worry it costs too much, or you have a job or career to pursue. I believe that life is too short to have to wait until you retire to enjoy all the good things the world has to offer. To live a free life may seem like a delusion but one cannot forget to have a bit of fun and do something that feeds the soul.

I’m here to gather all likeminded and passionate travelers with one purpose and it is to help each other find their calling in life, to share each other’s amazing stories and to inspire each other to make that push to travel the world and live a fulfilling life.

This website is just the beginning of a wonderful journey and I want to populate it with positivity and good vibes, as well as tips and tricks to make your travels so much more enjoyable. Look forward to life changing hacks and insights on all the coolest travel gear and products to help you on your way.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Kevin Grittner
